As primeiras 1.4 deles tinham problema de foco ser lento e uma certa inconsistência no controle de qualidade. Acredito que esse modelo veio para resolver o problema.

PS.: Fui olhar o preço dela e achei salgada: 679 dólares.... Contudo, ainda está 300 dólares mais barato que a Sigma 1.4 e 3 vezes mais barata que a Sony 1.2.
