For the 2012 edition of FotoGrafia –International Festival of Rome on September 20 – November 10 2012, the Italo-Latin American Institute (IILA) and Zètema Progetto Cultura, are organizing the fifth annual exhibition for photographers from the Latin American countries belonging to IILA (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Venezuela). The event is an important sign of the consolidation of cooperation over the years and the concrete expression of a partnership representing an important bridge between Italy and Latin American photography.

Participation in the exhibition is obtained by winning selection in a competition open only to photographers less than 40 years old (born on or after January 1, 1972) from one of IILA’s member countries. The theme for the competition is the one chosen for the next edition of FotoGrafia –International Festival of Rome 2012: “WORK”. This theme has been an important topic in recent years and in the history of photography and will be reinterpreted with a great attention to differences and changes in the languages of photography and contemporary work. “WORK” is a classic theme of the documentary photography of the twentieth century which returns to the centrality of man, taking up a challenge that involves new languages and new narrations.

How to participate:
Would-be participants must submit their project on the theme, “WORK”, with the following documentation (digital):

•   CV
•   Presentation and description of the project
•   10 photographs (JPG, 72dpi, long side 800px).

The material must arrive no later than June 30, 2012 at:

Participation in the competition is free and without charge.

Prize:
A selection of the best works will be exhibited at MACRO Testaccio (Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome), in a show to be inaugurated on the occasion of the 2012 edition of FotoGrafia. The names of the participants admitted to the exhibition will be announced in due time. The overall winner will be chosen from among those who win admission to the exhibition and will receive: a return ticket to Rome in economy class; a bursary of €1,500; a stay of a month in Rome starting in conjunction with the opening of FotoGrafia. During the stay, the winner will develop a photographic project on Rome, assisted by an editor. The project will be on show at the 2013 edition of the festival.


Jury:
The works will chosen for the exhibition by a three-member jury of representatives of the world of international photography, chaired by IILA’s cultural secretary and the festival’s artistic director.
The criteria for choosing the works will include relevance to the proposed theme, quality, organic unity and feasibility.

Treatment of Personal Data:
Under Art. 13, sub-para. 1 of Legislative Decree No. 196 of June 30, 2003, “Code for Personal Data”,  with subsequent amendments and additions, candidates are informed that the treatment of the personal data they supply has the sole purpose of carrying out the selection process and will be the responsibility of those in charge of the selection. The same information may be used to supply information for and the promotion of the activities of FotoGrafia – Rome International Festival. Title for the treatment of personal data in the sense of the regulations is held by IILA.

Premio IILA-FotoGrafia, 5°  edición:
“EL TRABAJO”

Con ocasión de la edición 2012 de FotoGrafia – Festival Internazionale di Roma (20 de septiembre – 10 de noviembre de 2012),  el IILA - Instituto Italo-Latino Americano y Zètema Progetto Cultura realizan la quinta reseña dedicada a fotógrafos procedentes de los países latinoamericanos miembros del IILA (Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haití, Honduras, México, Nicaragua, Panamá, Paraguay, Perú, República Dominicana, Uruguay, Venezuela), signo de una colaboración que se ha consolidado a lo largo de años y que se concreta en una partnership que representa un importante puente entre Italia y la fotografía de América Latina.

Es posible acceder a la reseña a través de una selección a la que pueden participar únicamente fotógrafos de nacionalidad de uno de los Países miembros del IILA, de edad no superior a los 40 años (nacidos después del 1 de enero de 1972). El tema sobre el cual los artistas están invitados a presentar sus trabajos es el mismo elegido para la próxima edición de FotoGrafia – Festival Internazionale di Roma 2012: “EL TRABAJO”. Palabra clave de los últimos años y de la historia de la fotografía, este tema será reinterpretado poniendo gran atención a las diferencias y a los cambios de los lenguajes de la fotografía y del trabajo contemporáneo. Un tema clásico de la fotografía documentaria del siglo XX que vuelve a la centralidad del hombre, haciendo propio un desafío que utiliza nuevos lenguajes y narraciones.

Modalidad de participación:
Para participar es necesario enviar el propio proyecto sobre el tema “EL TRABAJO” en formato digital, conteniendo la siguiente documentación:

•   Curriculum vitae
•   Presentación y descripción del proyecto
•   10 fotografías (JPG, 72 dpi, lado largo 800px)

El material tendrá que llegar antes del día 30 de junio de 2012 a la siguiente dirección: fotografia@iila.org

La participación es gratuita.

Premio:
Una selección de los mejores trabajos, entre los enviados, se expondrá en el MACRO Testaccio - Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Roma, en el marco de la exposición principal de FotoGrafia. Los nombres de los ganadores se comunicarán oportunamente después del cierre del Premio. Entre ellos se seleccionará un ganador absoluto, al cual se le ofrecerá: pasaje ida/vuelta, en clase económica a Roma; un viático de 1.500,00 euros; la estadía de un mes en Roma, a partir de los días antecedentes el Festival, para asistir al opening de FotoGrafia. Durante dicha estadía el ganador desarrollará un proyecto fotográfico enfocado en la ciudad de Roma, asistido por un editor. El proyecto se presentará en el marco de la edición 2013 del Festival.

Jurado:
Los trabajos seleccionados serán evaluados por un jurado competente, integrado por 3 representantes del mundo de la fotografía internacional y presidido por el Secretario Cultural del IILA y el Director Artístico del Festival.
La elección de los trabajos se basará en los siguientes criterios: atingencia al tema propuesto, calidad y organicidad del proyecto, así como su factibilidad.

Tratamiento de datos personales:
Tras el art.13, apartado 1, del decreto legislativo 30 de junio de 2003, n. 196 “Codice in materia di dati personali” y posteriores modificaciones e integraciones, se informa a los candidatos que el tratamiento de datos personales tiene como única finalidad el desarrollo de las actividades selectivas, y será llevado a cabo por personas nombradas para dicha selección. Las mismas informaciones se podrán utilizar para difundir y promocionar las actividades de FotoGrafia – Festival Internazionale di Roma. El IILA es el titular del tratamiento de datos personales, tras la nombrada normativa.

Que pena ser só para menores de 40. Que preconceito com os velhinhos... Hahaha

Alguém conhece a instituição? Ou seria mais um caçador de banco de imagens?
